Iyengar Yoga Class Triangle

Classes Offered

We offer both in-studio and online classes.  When you view the class schedule the classes marked “ZOOM” are online. In-studio classes and workshops are marked “STUDIO”.

Yoga is for everyone. Truly. It doesn’t matter your body type, your experience, your goals, or where you’re starting from. Yoga meets you exactly where you are. Many people come for the physical benefits: improved flexibility, strength, and mobility, but stay for the clarity, calm, and connection it brings.

We offer a variety of classes to support you, from deeply restful and restorative to more strength-based and active practices.

If you’re brand new and feeling good in your body, Hatha and All Levels Yoga is a great place to begin. If you’re working with limitations such as chronic pain, arthritis, or you’ve been inactive for a while, Gentle, Relax & Restore, or Peaceful Yoga are beautiful entry points.

If you’ve practiced before, you’re welcome to jump into any class that calls to you.

Our classes are ongoing, so you can begin anytime. Just show up—we’ll meet you there.

YOGA CLASSES

Our yoga classes support strength, flexibility, balance, and breath awareness through steady,
guided practice. From gentle and restorative to flowing and foundational, each class offers clear instruction and thoughtful adaptations so students of all experience levels feel welcomed and supported. Yoga is an opportunity to build awareness, resilience, and ease in both body and mind. Don’t worry about being “good” at yoga-we don’t even believe that’s a thing.

All Levels Yoga

This welcoming class is designed for beginners and experienced students alike. We begin with gentle movement and mindful stretching, gradually building into standing poses that support strength, balance, and stability. Clear guidance is offered throughout class, with pose adaptations and options so you can practice in a way that feels supportive and sustainable for your body. No experience is required — just a willingness to show up and explore. Each class concludes with a guided relaxation, allowing the body to settle into savasana and the mind to soften before transitioning back into your day.

Gentle Yoga

A slower, accessible form of hatha yoga designed to be easy to follow and supportive for
students of all ages and experience levels. This class emphasizes foundational elements of yoga, including breath awareness, unhurried movement, and poses to encourage stress relief and relaxation. With steady guidance and an unhurried pace, this class creates a welcoming space for beginners while offering a meaningful practice for all. You’ll have time to build awareness and create a true connection to your body, moving in a way that feels sustainable and supportive. Postures may include floor work, seated poses, hands-and-knees positions, and standing shapes.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is a traditional style of practice that balances strength and steadiness with ease and awareness. The word hatha is often translated as “sun and moon,” representing the union of effort and softness, two qualities we cultivate throughout class.
This well-rounded practice includes flexibility, strength, and balance postures with an emphasis on breath awareness and relaxation techniques to help ease stress. Students can expect steady movement, including some sun salutations, along with time spent both standing and practicing on the mat. Clear guidance and pose adaptations are offered throughout, creating a welcoming space for beginners while providing a balanced, meaningful practice for experienced students.

Peaceful Yoga

A quiet, restorative class designed to support a sense of calm in both body and mind. Deep
breathing, gentle stretching, guided imagery, and meditation are woven together to create space for rest and reflection. This practice moves slowly and intentionally, offering simple, easy-to-follow postures and steady guidance throughout. Beginners are warmly welcomed, and all students are encouraged to move at a pace that feels supportive and sustainable.
In a world that rarely slows down, this class offers intentional time to unplug, soften, and simply be.

Progressive Sun Salutations

To move toward any goal, we begin with steady, intentional steps. This six-month journey
explores the practice of Sun Salutations as a way to build core strength, flexibility, and overall
wellness. This seasonal offering begins in January and continues through the summer solstice. Classes start at a foundational level and gradually build in intensity and repetition over time. As the series progresses, the rhythm of breath and movement begins to feel less like effort and more like a moving meditation. Students are welcome to join at any point during the series, you do not need to begin at the start. A basic familiarity with foundational yoga postures is helpful. Clear guidance and pose adaptations are offered throughout so you can practice in a way that feels strong, sustainable, and aligned with your body. The journey culminates in a two-hour workshop in mid-June, where we gather to welcome the summer solstice with 108 Sun Salutations — a powerful and celebratory practice.

Relax and Restore

A deeply supportive restorative practice designed for all ages and body types. This class focuses on releasing tension held in the spine and muscles through longer-held, fully supported postures. Props such as bolsters, blocks, and blankets are thoughtfully used to allow the body to settle, soften, and truly rest. With gentle guidance, guided imagery, and deep relaxation woven throughout, this practice encourages healing from the inside out.
The slower pace and supportive structure make this class especially welcoming for beginners and anyone seeking relief from physical or mental strain.

Sun and Moon Yoga

This thoughtfully balanced class blends part vinyasa (sun) and part gentle, grounded practice
(moon). The flowing “sun” portion builds warmth, strength, and steady movement, while the
“moon” portion invites you to slow down, soften, and settle into longer-held postures.
Together, these two approaches reflect the natural balance yoga teaches us to cultivate; effort and ease, energy and rest, strength and surrender. All are welcome, though a basic foundation of yoga postures is helpful. Clear guidance and pose adaptations are offered throughout so you can practice in a way that feels steady and supportive.

Strength & Movement Classes

These classes focus on building strength, stability, mobility, and confidence through intentional movement. Using bodyweight, props, and functional exercises, you’ll develop balanced strength that supports daily life and long-term wellness. Thoughtful instruction and adaptations are offered throughout, making these classes accessible and empowering for a wide range of students.

Flexible Strength

A full-body strength practice designed to support muscle tone, bone health, circulation, and
overall mobility. Using hand weights and your own body weight, you’ll work the major muscle
groups of the legs, arms, and core through exercises both standing and on the mat.
Clear instruction and movement adaptations are offered throughout, making this practice
accessible and supportive for a wide range of students. Flex Strength offers a more active, steady-paced approach to building strength and mobility. Gentle Flex Strength follows a slower, more supported pace, with options for seated or chair-assisted movement. This is a great choice for those newer to strength training or looking for a more gradual, supported experience. In both classes, the focus is on building strength in a way that feels sustainable, balanced, and supportive of your body.

Sculpt & Roll

A balanced, full-body practice that blends strength work with mobility and recovery. Sculpt &
Roll pairs controlled, targeted movements for the arms, legs, and core with guided foam rolling techniques to help release tension, improve circulation, and support flexibility.
With a focus on recovery as much as strength, this class creates space in the body while building stability and awareness. Expect a steady, intentional pace with time for both effort and release, leaving you feeling refreshed, restored, and more at ease in your body.
This is a featured offering and is not held weekly. Suitable for all experience levels, with clear guidance and options offered throughout so you can practice in a way that feels supportive and sustainable

Tai Chi

A gentle, flowing practice that combines slow, intentional movement with breath awareness to
support balance, mobility, and overall well-being. Rooted in traditional Chinese practices, Tai
Chi (often paired with Qi Gong) helps release tension, quiet the mind, and create a sense of
steadiness and ease in the body. Movements are performed at a comfortable, unhurried pace and are accessible to all experience levels. With consistent practice, Tai Chi can support coordination, improve circulation, and offer practical tools for navigating stress with greater awareness and calm. This practice is less about doing it perfectly and more about moving with presence, softness, and control.

Meditation Classes

Our meditation classes are guided by The Yoga Place founder, Suzanne Accardo, whose steady presence and depth of experience have shaped the heart of this studio for decades. Through breathwork, guided meditation, and intentional stillness, these offerings create space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect. Whether you are new to meditation or deepening your practice, you’ll find thoughtful guidance and an atmosphere that supports clarity, steadiness, and calm. Mindfulness Meditation: Mindfulness meditation is the practice of bringing your attention to the present moment with awareness and without judgment. Through this practice, you begin to notice thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations as they arise, creating space to respond with greater clarity and calm. Each class includes gentle guidance, a brief introduction to the practice, and time for techniques such as body scans, relaxation, and seated meditation. The approach is simple and accessible, offering tools you can return to both on and off the mat. No prior experience is needed. This is a welcoming space to slow down, observe, and reconnect

Monthly Sangha

Traditionally rooted in the Buddhist tradition, a sangha refers to a supportive community of
practitioners. Here, it is a time to come together with like-minded individuals to share in
mindfulness, reflection, and collective peaceful living. Each gathering offers space for connection, conversation, and quiet awareness, creating a sense of support that extends beyond the individual and into the community as a whole. Each monthly sangha centers around a different topic of discussion, while the intention remains the same: to cultivate understanding, connection, and a shared sense of ease

Testimonial

Camilla

Thankful for the Yoga Place, not only have they helped me through several health issues, but they have taught me techniques for relaxation and self-control during trauma, the unexpected and negative challenges that life brings. Since I began attending, I can get better sleep, live a more positive lifestyle and handle relationships with better quality. Blessed by Suzanne and the others that helped me get off some medications and get on board with positive energy for a better outcome in my life. I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Muscular Dystrophy (CMT). However, through the Yoga Place, I have gained a better quality of life and stay healthier despite the challenges life brings. I AM BLESSED.
